Negotiate-Asia started out as a collaboration between Anthony Brophy and Thomas Liu, both highly-experienced negotiating trainers bringing together over 40 years’ combined experience of development and delivery of customised training in negotiating skills.

Anthony Brophy
Principal Consultant
Anthony Brophy has lived in Asia for most of his working life. He is managing director of HR Solutions and principal consultant of Negotiate-Asia.  Since returning to Hong Kong from Japan in 1996, Anthony has specialised in development and delivery of customised training in areas of leadership development, negotiating and communication skills. He is an accredited negotiation skills trainer and has completed the Harvard Law School program in Negotiation. In 2011, he became local partner and facilitator of the internationally-acclaimed workshop, Think on your Feet®.

Anthony previously held senior positions in education, sales and management in Hong Kong and Japan. He was the sales manager of ITP Japan and deputy director of Oxford University Press Tokyo. Anthony has master’s degrees in linguistics and human resources management, and postgraduate diplomas in education, management and management consulting. He has been conducting negotiating skills training since 2002.
Thomas Liu is a master trainer in sales and negotiating skills. Since 1999, he has specialised in areas of sales, negotiating, influencing and conflict resolution skills development, and conducts train the trainer in sales and negotiating skills. His clients include major companies in the IT, telecoms, banking, construction, transportation, manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors.

Thomas previously worked in sales for a major telecoms company before transitioning to corporate training & development. He was responsible for the transformation of engineers to international sales consultant roles and implemented leadership training for an 18,000 strong workforce. Thomas delivers training regionally in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Sunao Fujii is a Singapore-based trainer and facilitator of negotiation skills and has supported us with delivery and faciliation of a number of negotiating skills and sales development programs in both Singapore and Japan with delivery in English and Japanese. He has worked with a broad range of multinationals spanning the automobile, biotechnology, construction, financial services, healthcare, logistics, manufacture, medical, telecommunications, and trading industries.

Sunao previously worked for a management consulting firm in Tokyo assisting foreign firms to enter the Japanese market. Sunao is very familiar with different management, leadership styles and working styles and how this impacts negotiations within cross-cultural contexts between South East Asian and Japanese teams and with their western counterparts.
